Constant Contact Setup
This is a one-time setup to connect your newsletter signups to Constant Contact. Follow the steps in order.
Step 1 — Create a Constant Contact app
- Go to the Constant Contact developer portal and sign in with your Constant Contact account.
- Click My Applications → Create a new application.
- Name it (e.g. "BetterScapes Newsletter") and save.
- Copy the API Key (client ID) and App Secret (client secret) — you'll need them below.
Step 2 — Register this redirect URI
In your Constant Contact app settings, add this exact URL to the allowed redirect URIs:

In your app's Secrets settings, paste the API Key into CONSTANT_CONTACT_API_KEY and the App Secret into CONSTANT_CONTACT_CLIENT_SECRET.
Step 4 — Authorize & get your refresh token
Paste your API Key here (same value you saved in secrets), then click Connect.
You'll be sent to Constant Contact to approve access, then returned here with your refresh token and list ID.
Step 5 — Save the refresh token & list ID
After authorizing, copy the refresh token into CONSTANT_CONTACT_REFRESH_TOKEN and your chosen list ID into CONSTANT_CONTACT_LIST_ID in app secrets. You're done — new subscribers will flow into Constant Contact.
